 Algonquin College is an English-language college of applied arts and technology in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The college serves Canada's National Capital Region. Funded by the Province of Ontario its main campus is in Ottawa, located at 1385 Woodroffe Avenue, near the intersection with Baseline Road. Across Woodroffe Avenue from the main campus is the Baseline Transitway Station. Algonquin College's other campuses are in Perth and Pembroke.
 
 College Background:
 The institution was established in 1967. The founding institutions were the Eastern Ontario Institute of Technology (established in 1957) and the Ottawa Vocational Center (established in 1965 at the Woodroffe Campus). The original land was donated by the Ryan family. Algonquin College is named after the Algonquin First Nations Peoples who lived in the area.In 1964, the Rideau Campus was established. “Satellite” campuses in Pembroke, Hawkesbury Perth and Renfrew were established in the late 1960s. The Vanier School of Nursing became a part of the Woodroffe Campus when nursing programs began to be offered at the College In 1973, the School of Prescott-Russell joined the Algonquin family and the Colonel By Campus was created through the acquisition of St. Patrick’s College. with the creation of La Cité Collegiale, 1990 marked the beginning of Algonquin as an English college
 In August 2002, the Rideau Campus closed and programs were moved to the Advanced Technology Centre on the Woodroffe Campus.
 Bachelor Degrees in Applied Studies were introduced.

 
 Campus:
 * The Ottawa campus is at 1385 Woodroffe Avenue Ottawa, ON, K2G 1V8 with a site area of 357,927 square metres.
 * The Pembroke Campus is 315 Pembroke St. E., Pembroke, ON K8A 3K2 with a site area of 11,889 square metres.
 * The Perth Campus is at 7 Craig Street Perth, ON K7H 1X7 with a Site Area of 51,071 square metres
 Programs:
  * Algonquin’s focus is on technology and workplace needs. It has always been imperative for Algonquin to stay ahead of emerging trends.
 * There are over 16,000 full-time students in more than 140 programs.

   * There are 111 Post Secondary programs. 8 are Tuition Short courses, 8 are apprenticeship programs, 12 Post Diploma programs, 3 joint degree programs and 3 Bachelor Degree. In addition, there are 3 Co-op/Diploma/Apprentice programs.
 International students:
 The IEC welcomes students from over 100 countries; visiting faculty; and our partners in education from around the world.
  The IEC is a warm and welcoming place where each member of the staff is knowledgeable and experienced to help you with issues related to your personal needs and academic goals. The IEC is also committed to the development of cross-cultural awareness for students and staff.
   The IEC is more than an on-campus resource facility for international students. Its key goals include international involvement through projects and partnerships, and internationalizing our learning environment. To that end, we encourage Algonquin faculty and staff to travel internationally and to develop broader cultural perspectives.
 The IEC is actively involved in training projects with private and public institutions, organizations and governments around the world. We have satellite campuses in India and Montenegro and one opening soon in Kuwait. Students from these campuses may transfer credits and complete their studies in Canada.
